As some of you may know MEC for a number of years had the Cycle Centre in Middlesbrough bus station, unfortunately MEC no longer has the contract for that service. We continue to offer Shopmobility from there but the extra space has gave us an opportunity to showcase what projects we offer as an environmental charity. My project is obviously Eco Shops and from next week I will be operating a pop up shop in unit 4 every Wednesday, (haven’t confirmed times yet although the unit is open 10 am – 3.30 pm) . Although I am still here to support you all, they may be times I need some help from yourselves so any donations would be welcome as I only have tomato soup and digestives left in the container! Thanks, Lisa.

Hi, I was wondering do we all tell our guests where and when other Eco shops are by any chance.
I mention to our guests where/when the other local ones are to us and if they are out in town where they can pop into aswell as our Eco shop.

Maybe of interest to some you.
The 2022 Cash for Kids Day fund is only for children who have a genuine need for support and are suffering from disadvantage due to poverty, ongoing impact of the pandemic or increase in the cost of living.
We encourage applications from a wide range of service providers who support vulnerable children. This will include representatives from social services, schools, health professionals and charities that have governance documentation in place (including a constitution and a safeguarding policy).
Applications must be made by a service providing organisation and not directly from the person/s responsible for the children (i.e., parents or guardians.)

It has been suggested that the network set up a Whatsapp group to redistribute food quicker as some people are missing alerts from the website or not seeing the messages quick enough and sometimes food is getting wasted. Obviously we need to work together to ensure nothing goes to waste so Sharlein from Tees Valley Together has very kindly offered to set up a Whatsapp group. It would be good to trial it to see how it goes but please continue to use the members forum as I will be still using it to share information and ideas and it would be great if people could do the same. I know there are some issues still and we are working with IT to work through them. In the meantime, if you would like to be included in the Whatsapp group, please text your name and EcoShop to Sharlein on 07905 573668. Thank you, Lisa.

We have just done a draw for the freezer – it was only between Streets Ahead and Tees Valley Together –
I’m pleased to say the TVT’s name was drawn (out of a bowl) – I did video the draw, as I got the ladies from the healthy cooking team to do it but am having difficulty uploading the video!! Will do so when our IT whiz Phil has managed to turn the video the right way round but managed to take screenshot of Lesley holding up the ticket!
